UCAT (“the University Clinical Aptitude Test”) is the admission test used by majority number of UK medical schools. You can check our previous post for the introduction to UCAT (https://www.nh.edu.hk/post/medicine-admission-series-ucat)
It is a 2-hour computer-based test with 233 multiple choice questions in 5 subtests. The full score of each subtest of UCAT is 900, except for Situational Judgement which ranges from Band 1 (Highest) to Band 4 (Lowest).
According to previous records, a score of 650 per section is considered above average. While many schools claim that they don’t have threshold UCAT scores, they make it clear that applicants who achieve Band 4 on Situational Judgement Test are mostly not considered for interviews.
As candidates for Medical School 2022 entry are busy preparing for UCAT at the moment, we have prepared a list of requirements on UCAT scores so as to help candidates find their best fit.
