UCAT Scores Cut-off for UK Medical Schools

UCAT (“the University Clinical Aptitude Test”) is the admission test used by majority number of UK medical schools. You can check our previous post for the introduction to UCAT (

It is a 2-hour computer-based test with 233 multiple choice questions in 5 subtests. The full score of each subtest of UCAT is 900, except for Situational Judgement which ranges from Band 1 (Highest) to Band 4 (Lowest).

According to previous records, a score of 650 per section is considered above average. While many schools claim that they don’t have threshold UCAT scores, they make it clear that applicants who achieve Band 4 on Situational Judgement Test are mostly not considered for interviews.

As candidates for Medical School 2022 entry are busy preparing for UCAT at the moment, we have prepared a list of requirements on UCAT scores so as to help candidates find their best fit.
