High Potential Individual Visa Makes Working in UK Easier
The UK Government has recently launched a “High Potential Individual” visa scheme, under which graduates who have received their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from designated non-UK universities in the past 5 years are eligible to apply for a 2-year visa (3-year visa for PhD qualification candidates) to work in the UK. Qualified applicants are allowed to apply for the visa even without any job offer and with very minimal financial proof.
These universities are from the top 50 universities that appear on at least 2 out of the 3 rankings (Times Higher Education world university rankings, Quacquarelli Symonds world university rankings, or the Academic Ranking of World Universities) for the year in which the applicant received the qualification.
The newest scheme is an enticement to attract the world’s “best and brightest” to work and benefit the British economy. And for those who wish to develop a career in the UK, the visa provides an easier and quicker route to experience life in the UK. Thus, attending a prestigious university not only helps individuals gain considerable academic achievement, but would provide more choices and opportunities in life as well.
Below in the tables are the listed eligible universities from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the US, and hope our members find them useful in selecting universities. If you need any professional advice on application and admission, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
